About our area – Kobuchisawa, Hakushu, Mukawa (P.39)
With a view on Mt. Kaikomagatake, famous ‘phantom’ rice and spring water:
Kobuchisawa, Hakushu, Mukawa
Town located at the foot of Mt. Kaikomagatake, along the Ojiro river, is famous for its pure spring water. The so-called ‘Mukawa rice’ is grown in the water of the Omukawa river, which shares the
same source as the Ojiro river from the Southern Alps.
Especially the “Norin Nr. 48”, commonly called “Yonhachimai”, or “Phantom rice” has a beautiful gloss, stickiness, and aroma.
Kobuchisawa town with its clear view on Mt. Kaikomagata is the western gateway of Hokuto city, offering a wide variety of restaurants, galleries and artist studios spread throughout the area.
