Veronicastrum japonicum var. japonicum
The recent popularity of meadow style plantings has meant that this plant is in great demand. Once established it will produce a big clump of star shaped leaves topped with pale blue flower
spikes which are a magnet for bees and butterflies. Happy in sun or partial shade it is very hardy but dislikes hot and humid places. In the garden it will look at home in the mixed border or in
a more informal meadow planting where it looks wonderful associated with grasses.
